In a short time, we’ve both built a life around us
Never knew days could feel so good
Our moments entwined as one and the same, we are us

Fast asleep
I had a strange dream
A loud awful sound
Followed up by a scream

Woke up in sweat
But it’s not over yet
No one else in my bed
An open window overhead

As I try to make some sense of what my eyes see
I hear that same sound that I heard in my dream
Out of my bed, down the stairs and out the back door
An unearthly sight unfolds before me

I watch with great shock as a beam ascends into the sky
My love paralyzed within its light
Taken into the doors of an alien ship that’s flying
Off at high speeds and into the night

It’s been three days and no one believes me
